The invite-only TCG tournament brought top players to the Hilton Anaheim from August 18–20, 2006, for the third annual World Championships.
The Pokémon Company’s Japan-only seasonal gatherings centered on TCG tournaments and often served as World Championships qualifiers, following spring and autumn editions in 2011 and 2012.
The event ran August 19–21, 2005, at San Diego’s Town and Country Resort and was the second Worlds organized through Pokémon Organized Play.
